Students across the Woodard Academies Trust celebrate results success


Woodard academy students across the country have been busy celebrating fantastic achievements at both GCSE and A Level.  With a move to a new ‘9-1’ GCSE grading structure, it has become more challenging for students to achieve top grades.

Despite the reform, there have been many individual success stories across the Trust:

A Level

  • Katie Ramsay from Kings Priory School in Tynemouth will now pursue a career in Medicine at Cambridge University after receiving an impressive 4 A*s
     
  • Building on last year’s departmental successes, new highlights from Sir Robert Woodard Academy in Lancing included 100% of students in History and Music achieving a grade of A*-C, along with 92% achieving the same in Sociology. English Literature and Mathematics continue the success of last year with 100% A*-C, representing an outstanding outcome for the subject and students
     
  • Two Littlehampton Academy students are off to Oxford University this September following their outstanding success at A level.  Frank Nightingale, who achieved three A* grades and two A grades, will be studying Chemistry at Merton College, Oxford University.  Will Lloyd, who achieved two A* grades and an A, will be studying History and Politics and St Catherine's College, Oxford
  • Sophie Bradley from Polam Hall School in Darlington achieved an A* in Maths and As in both Physics and Chemistry at A Level.

GCSE
 

  • Ellie New from Kings Priory School achieved 6 A*, 3 As, a 9 in both English Language and Literature, and an 8 in Mathematics
     
  • Megan Bowden from Sir Robert Woodard Academy achieved 9 As and A*s. She is planning to stay on at Sixth Form to study Biology, Psychology, Maths and Philosophy A-levels
     
  • Angelina Ainslie and Oakley Evans from The Littlehampton Academy, both achieved a grade 9 in Maths and English. Angelina also achieved a grade 8, four A*s and two grade As. Kelly Jones achieved six A*s, one grade 9, and two grade 8s
     
  • Betty Bastable from St. Augustine Academy in Maidstone has achieved a stunning list of 5 A*, 3 A and the new top grade 9 in English and Maths. She was joined by a group of other top achievers; Bianka Babrian, Mary Morris, Jonathan Atkins and Napsugar Novak who also gained superb grades
     
  • Emily Johnson from Polam Hall School gained 10 GCSEs all grade A or A*.  Cherry Cheng and Matthew Cheung also both achieved A* in Further Maths GCSE
     
  • Despite moving to Britain two years ago, Albanian-born student Englatina Ruci has achieved an A* in her performing arts GCSE at St. Peter’s Academy in Fenton. She has gained the equivalent of 10 GCSEs altogether, including another A* in Spanish.
