Ruth Ashbee is a senior leader and leading thinker in education, specialising in curriculum, teaching and learning, school culture and leadership. Ruth’s work has been instrumental in the transformation of curriculum thinking and practice in countless schools, and her forthcoming book “Curriculum: Theory, Culture and the Subject Specialisms” is eagerly anticipated by teachers and school leaders nationwide, and “shows Ashbee to be to curriculum what Lemov is to pedagogy and Willingham is to cognitive science”.

Ruth has worked in state comprehensives in challenging circumstances for her entire career.  After training with the Institute of Education, Ruth began as an NQT in East London, where she taught for four years, before moving to work in Telford.
