Woodard EDOL Competition Winners

Posted on: 9th Nov 2022

It has been an absolute delight to read such a wide range of work on the theme of Tolerance in different languages. Congratulations to all those who entered. Please see feedback from our judge Profesor René Koglbauer and a list of competition winners:

“Firstly, many thanks to the Woodard Academies for involving me as a Judge in your first academies’ European Day of Languages competition.

It has been a great pleasure and delight reading the wide variety of entries and how you have tackled the complex topic of ‘tolerance’. Some of you at primary school level and Key Stage 3 level have played with the word tolerance and developed creative poems, posters or acrostics that reflected your personal understanding of the word. Others made a close link to your academies’ values and how important tolerance is in your personal and school life. At higher levels, you went – as anticipated – a step further and linked the topic to some of the wider societal issues. While all winning submissions are unique, they have also got some common features, they are all of high linguistic and creative quality. Some of you have also shown great team work in collaborating on your submission. The richness of your submissions were further enhanced by the high proportion of multilingual submissions. To all those who have won a prize, congratulations. To everyone, who entered this year’s competition a heartfelt thank you, as being part is everything! And finally, to those who haven’t entered this year, the judging panel is looking forward to read your entries in a future competition.”
